BACK UP THE BRINKS TRUCK

WEIGHTLIFTING VIA THE ALGORITHM!

“Everything is F-ING Awesome Baby!! And then, of course, economic numbers come out and promptly deflate the “Hope & Change” bubble; if I was Preezy, and this was my economy, I’d hang out in China and take shit from the Chinese, that guy in the Philippines, and of course Chalky’s good buddy Vlad, too.

And can I get a “thank God frickin’ August is over with!”

I’ll admit, at the start of the day, things looked and felt “slow” and we had gold sitting on the high side of the range coming in from Asia & Europe. But that first move higher set the tone, and from there it was “panic the shorts”. Directly below are the 4 algorithm trades from this morning, in successive order; and with a $17+ range in the books, there is no further need to trade today [unless of course you want to give some of the profit away].

As I intimated last week, opinions are great, but it’s tough to deposit them in the bank; granted the econ numbers out of the math unicorns in Washington are horrible; “eh, si senor, but we’ve known that for months and years.” However, given the latest “blah blah yada yada” from FED Pie Holes [come on Stan, raise your hand] about rate increases being very much on the table come 9/21, markets are gyrating violently back and forth when reality very much gets in the way of the story that “Everything is F-ing Awesome Baby! And we need rate increases!” goes down the shitter and we are left with depression scenarios. And who panics first in gold? Why shorts of course!

All of this, of course, should convince you Newbies out there, that nobody anywhere has a clue what this stuff [meaning any market] will do day to day; however, what I can comfortably predict with near 100% confidence is that with over $7 trillion a day of notional being traded, when the fat wallet guys hit the pool every frickin’ trading day there WILL BE WAVES!

Exit Question: Do you think there will be any “splash” from this?

Now, to be sure, there are plenty of these guys waiting to hit the pool and play, so it’s not exactly like it’s a “one off”; they’re lined up like jets waiting for take off at O’hare; and when they hit the pool, they create waves of price distortion we successfully “surf” with the algorithm.
